Greetings PC 6-12th grade families!
Below are a few updates from Plum City Middle and High School:
A goal that I have is to ensure strong communication to parents in our district. I believe the combination of detailed proactive and timely reactive communication can be an incredible asset in education. This mid-month newsletter will serve as a brief update to you of items to be aware of from Plum City Middle and High School, approximately two weeks after our district newsletter.
Earlier this week, an update was emailed home from me regarding school safety. While our schools are incredibly safe, it is important that we prepare for unlikely threats such as a fire or an intruder. The Pierce County Sheriff's Department has been an incredible ally to our district in protecting our schools. As I detailed in the letter, they will be leading our school intruder drills on October 24th. This will be followed by a conversation with myself and our Sheriff. If you have any questions on this important topic, please let me know.
Last week, we had our monthly character education assembly. Mrs. Laehn and I introduced our monthly character trait: responsibility. We will continue to support this trait across our campus this month. I encourage you to discuss this trait at home as well.
Our fall sports are wrapping up. It has been fun cheering on our student athletes this fall. A reminder to encourage students to sign up for winter sports as they are fast approaching.
We have two wonderful fine art events coming up. On Wednesday, October 23rd, we will have Careers and Creativity Night. This event is from 6:00-7:00pm and features many of our departments including Art, Business Ed, Foods, FFA, Forensics, Music, Spanish, and Tech Ed. Students in Student Council and National Honor Society will be giving tours of these departments. Afterwards, there will be a referendum informational session in the gym at approximately 7:00pm.
Our fall middle and high school concert is on Tuesday, October 29th. The concert is from 6:30-7:30pm. This will also be followed by an informational referendum session.
As you are likely aware we have an important referendum on the November 5th ballot. I would encourage you to reference our referendum page. Please reach out to me with any questions.
Sincerely,
Chris Kamrath
